"This old building was said to have been built over two hundred years ago by the Spanish people near Penitas, Texas in Hidalgo County. I could not help and notice the way that these old buildings were built to withstand a tropical storm also an attack by hostile enemies. In Starr and Zapata Counties the was many of these old buildings that it was said that the Spanish built them and they were built to withstand storms and hostilities they had few windows and what doors that I have seen in these old buildings were almost bullet and ax proof some three and four inches thick it is really pitiful that pictures have not been made of these old Spanish buildings."
