Description

Historically, women have been accustomed to creating their own community and professional spaces for education, recreation, civic engagement, and service activities. This digital exhibit presents a handful of representative organizations with historic roots throughout the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

This digital exhibit features a mere fraction of the various historical women’s organizations established throughout the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Other notable organizations include the Valley Byliners, Junior League, Friendship of Women, Mujeres Unidas, Organization of Women Executives, and many, many more.
