Abstract
Dog bite injuries were among the top 10 causes of nonfatal injury treated in US emergency departments (EDs) for children aged 1-9 in 2017. Studies have shown a disproportional distribution of dog bites within demographics such as age group, ethnicity, and sex. This study aimed to identify the demographic groups with the highest prevalence of dog bites and analyze the frequency of injury severity based on injury type.
