Abstract
The article presents a study that determined the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among Kinesiology majors at a predominantly Hispanic institution in south Texas. Topics include students' predisposition for diabetes, dyslipidemia and insulin resistance, components of metabolic syndrome and gender differences in physical and metabolic characteristics.
