Description

An extended version of the video produced to commemorate fifty years of the Los Fresnos Volunteer Fire Department which was founded in 1948. The video includes additional pictures. Chief Robert Walsdorf, who joined the Fire Department in 1954, talks about the first years of the Fire Department. David Meyn, former chief, talks about the phone calls and communication in the early years of the Fire Department. Mike Meyn, a former firefighter, who talks about the involvement of women in the department. Marshal Geronimo Sheldon gives a bilingual workshop on fire prevention to the Alfredo Villarreal Elementary school. Finally, the video includes footage of an open house and a banquet for the celebration at the Fire Department.
