Description

"Sarg Sorgo planted on 4x soil. J.W. Martin Jr., inspecting feed. Feed was planted May 1956 at the rate of 10 pounds per acre following oats and hubam clover. This feed received 5 irrigations. The first rain fell Aug. 31, 1956. 8 inches of rain have fallen since. Feed averages 14 feet in height and produced 56.6 tons of green feed per acre. Martin received Soil Conservation Service assistance in design and layout of his irrigation system. Soil unit 4X."
