Description
Photograph of the U.S. Army border peacekeepers with tents behind them. There is text included with the photograph that reads "U.S. Army troops, first feared to be a treat to law and order by turn-of-the-century Valleyites, were soon accepted as legitimate peacekeepers by the establishment. The troops became a vital part of the Valley's social and economic life. From the magazine, Rio History, Fall 1988.
