Abstract
The use of nanotechnology in the packaging industry has led to the development of nanopaints, which offer improved barrier performance, antibacterial activity, UV resistance, and functionalization, among other benefits. Despite several hurdles, such as cost, regulatory approval, and durability, these nanopaints have the potential to be used in various industries, including electronics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food packaging packages. Different types of nanopaints, including barrier, antimicrobial, UV-resistant, and functional coatings, are discussed in this article. This chapter also highlights the potential applications of these nanopaints in food product packaging.
