Abstract

El uso de la metadata así como su monetización son parte integral de la economía contemporánea. Le permiten a la industria volverse más productiva y mejorar la calidad de los servicios que proveen a la sociedad. Sin embargo, a medida que navegamos hacia un mundo ciber-conectado, la tecnología tendrá un impacto directo en la vida humana. Debido a esto, es importante que las empresas y organizaciones involucradas en la creación y uso de datos, tomen las medidas necesarias para proteger la información personal contenida en el big data y que estos estén debidamente protegidos. En este ensayo, se presentan algunas de las innovaciones tecnológicas relacionadas a la metadata y sus implicaciones legales y sociales.

The use of metadata as well as its monetization are integral parts of the contemporary economy. They allow the industry to become more productive and improve the quality of the services they provide to society. However, as we navigate towards a cyber-connected world, technology will have a direct impact on human life. Because of this, it is important for companies and organizations involved in the creation and use of data to take the necessary measures to protect the personal information contained in big data and ensure that it is properly safeguarded. This essay presents some of the technological innovations related to metadata and their legal and social implications.
