Abstract
Scapular fractures are uncommon, and published guidelines on the rehabilitation of scapular fractures are limited. This chapter summarizes the current concepts that can assist decision-making for rehabilitating patients following scapular fracture. The STAR-shoulder and the modified algorithm for scapular dysfunction are viable frameworks to aid decision-making and can aptly guide rehabilitation after scapular fracture. The selection of the appropriate rehabilitation strategies after scapular fracture requires a close understanding of the mechanism of injury, type of management, existing comorbidities, and associated injuries. Thus, communication between the physical therapist and the surgeon or physician is vital for quality care and positive patient outcomes.
