Abstract
Alzheimer’s disease is a neurodegenerative disease that presents with Aβ amyloid deposits in the brain that form amyloid plaques. This literature review explores the relationship between microbiota composition in Alzheimer’s disease, gut microbiota, oral microbiota and cardiometabolic health. Current literature does not support a linear relationship between microbiota composition in Alzheimer’s patients and cardiometabolic health; however, more research is needed in order to determine how the two are related.
