Abstract
This chapter situates mathematics as a living entity to focus on relationships made during rich mathematical experiences, which seek to interconnect learners to mathematics and to each other. Anzaldúa’s theorizing of conocimientos guides the conversation of ethnomathematics being pivotal in challenging individualism in mathematics education. Ethnomathematics within youth participatory action research provide space for ancient mathematical wisdom to become mathematical spiritual activism, collective action that seeks to transform self, the world, and mathematics.
