Hand colored lithograph. The prominent part of the lithograph is Captain May capturing General La Vega by the arm in what appears to be a resaca with a palm tree. Eighteen American soldiers are on horseback, eight Mexican soldiers are running away and three Mexican soldiers appear to be dead.
