Abstract
FOXO transcription factors perform diverse functions that have effects on significant biological processes like stem cell homeostasis, cell cycle, apoptosis, and cell fate determination. This research focuses on FOXO4 that is differentially localized in U87MG glioblastoma cells where FOXO4 is targeted to the nucleus. This research is aimed at investigating the mechanism and localization of FOXO4 in U87MG cell lines. Using chimeric fusion construct, we have mapped regions within FOXO factors that can determine specific cellular localization patterns. Finding the mechanism behind specific nuclear localization of FOXO4 can produce innovative data to better understand the distinctive subcellular localization patterns in U87MG cell lines.
