"Photo of oil painting of Bagdad dated 1860. The original is in Matamoros Hotel - only known picture of Bagdad. Buildings on right side of Rio Grande are probably Clarksville, [Texas] U.S. town destroyed completely by hurricane of 1867. However, on that area, about that time, there was also a U.S. Army Depot - the buildings there dated from war with Mexico."
