Project South Texas
Project South Texas was the UT System initiative (about 2012–2015) that created a new university for the Rio Grande Valley by consolidating UT Brownsville, UT Pan American, and the Regional Academic Health Center, that led to UTRGV.
It holds planning and communications records from that transition: UT System news releases, a Q&A with Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa and Dr. Guy Bailey, 2014 South Texas Status newsletters (Julio León), guiding principles, FAQs, a 2012–2015 timeline, organizational charts for the new university, proposed campus names, resolutions of support, and the 2014 Engaging Communities report.
