Abstract
BMPs have a key role in osteoclast regulation. The role of BMPs in osteoclast regulation has not been well determined, however, studies have demonstrated that without the release of BMP2 during osteoclast differentiation, their activity and numbers are diminished. This can lead to conditions that weaken bone tissue such as osteoporosis.
