Abstract

In recent times, the domain of global mental health has seen a growing recognition for the importance of involving people with mental health conditions as key partners in providing lived experience expertise across various sectors in the field, including research, policy, service development, and service delivery. Despite this focus on the unique expertise of people with mental health conditions, the reality on the ground presents a rather slow progress in realising meaningful and authentic inclusion. We not only provide lived experience perspectives from high-income and low- and middle-income country contexts on the obstacles towards progress but also showcase positive advances at country level where integration of people with lived experiences of a mental health condition is concerned.
