Description

Dr. Steve Chamberlain, Associate Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies in the UT Brownsville College of Education, was inspired by his mother’s example and gave teaching a try. His first assignment as a substitute teacher was with Special Education students, and he has devoted his career to Special Education since that propitious day. Chamberlain’s areas of interest and research include: overrepresentation of culturally and linguistically diverse students in special education, the role of culture in the teaching/learning process, and nondiscriminatory assessment procedures.
