Description

Texas Governor Rick Perry came to UTPA to sign the UTPA, UTB merger bill into law July 16. Senate Bill 24 as the bill is known as will also bring into existence a medical school in the Rio Grande Valley. Local elected officials and members of the University of Texas system were in attendance for the signing of the merger.
